Oh oats...

A giant steaming pile of blandness even wih my stewed apple. I just couldnt do it.

Crunch time meatloaf

Mish's meatloaf is really yum and filling. Hard to beleive dinner was only 265 calories!

I am satisfied enough that i wont be ruining it with one of the cupcakes i baked for tomorrow's morning tea.

(baked as to only have one and send the rest home with friends before the program starts instead of chucking in the bin, and as my treat meal)

My fridge is full of fresh healthy foods!

So yesterday i sat down and planned the family meals and snacks for the week. Then this morning we went to the fruit and veggie shop, then the supermarket and bought all our nice ingredients. While i was in the veg shop it smelt so good and reminded me of something. When i was pregnant i had a great sense of smell and was horrified to find that food courts smelt like garbage. Real garbage. They must have lots of waste just out of sight or something. In comparison the fruit shop smelt super fresh and lovely.

Our shopping came out slightly cheaper than normal so that was a bonus. This week we will be having oats with home stewed apple, weetbix, toast with tomato, pumpkin soup, sandwiches, salad, green curry, meatloaf, pizzas and a prawn stir fry.

I ate a crap lunch and then 5 easter eggs

I ate choc at work because it was there and I wasn't strong enough to not say no the first time due to an unsatisfying lunch.  I then got the taste of choc going and went back for seconds.

Lessons: Eat a better lunch, say no, and don't eat when I am bored - it only solves the problem for 30 seconds and leaves me feeling bad all day.

Cottage Cheese is not for me...

I was so motivated to get going I bought the ingredients for my first recipe to try. Cottage cheese with chives and tomato on toast.  Yuck :o( I only put a small amount of cottage cheese on, not the 125grams Mish suggests, and I didn't like it.  I made myself eat the first piece of toast, but had the second without the cottage cheese.  I might try philli cheese instead.

I'm also dubious about oats cooked with water and not milk...

I bought the crunch time cookbook today...

I think i am as nervous about the cooking as i am about the exercise. What it i never like lasagne again? What if cheesecake makes me feel sick because it is too rich...what do healthy people eat for a special meal out? I know these are stupid thoughts, but i genuinely wonder...

Anyway, in my first week of pre season, i have picked the following to try:

Cottage cheese and tomato on toast, this i am most nervous about, as cottage cheese looks gross.

Smoked salmon and avo wrap

Chick pea baby beet and fetta salad

Thai green curry, no rice...will be a bit weird, more like a green curry soup?

Meatloaf, i really hope oliver likes this one.

I am pleased with the snacks, a wholemeal crumpet with whole fruit jam, yum. But what is whole fruit jam...

I am going to do this shopping at the veg shop and the butcher. If i am going to make so much effort with food and exercise i may as well buy it from its source and in season etc. Ill update on the recipes later, ill cook them on the weekend.

Bye.

I signed up today...

Hi,

Im not sure if anyone other than me will read this, but i thought id give it a go. We had a belated easter today, that will be my last chocolate for a good while i imagine. I then signed up for round two of the 12wbt. I cant wait to be healthy and fit and slim. I am very nervous about this program, i work full time, and have a toddler so i know it will be hard.

But i shall give myself over to the process, my husband is supportive, so that should go a long way with my ability to fit stuff in.

I am just getting over a bout of bronchitis, hopefully i can get back to my thursday pump class this week - it is my favourite, and i have been absent now for three weeks and can really feel the difference, both strength wise, and mentally too.

Bye for now.
